Mom's surgery went well this morning. This isn't a very good picture, sorry mom - blame Sally - haha ;) She is at home resting and will probably be in and out of sleep today. The surgeon and staff were wonderful and helped us to understand a little more. The tumor, or mass, that is in that area is very large; and that is most likely what is causing all the lower back pain. We were hoping that putting the stent in would relieve some pain, but again we'll just have to wait and see. All of her records from the procedure were sent to her Oncologist - so we obviously have more appts and will continue to collect info. As for now, it looks as though the cancer is endometrial.
Dad seems to be healing well. He is convinced that he is ready to go to work.... until the pain meds wear off :)
On another happy note we picked up what appeared to be a castaway at the airport yesterday afternoon. Mom and Dad were surprised (they didn't know he was coming in) - and it was a definitely a nice break in routine! Brad has been traveling throughout Europe and Asia for the past 6 months; living out of a backpack, sleeping outside and having all sorts of adventures. We got to hear a few of his stories last night before we made him go take a shower. Just kidding Brad. Kind of. It will be nice to have him here for a while.
On a side note I hope this blog does not seem all gloom and doom to everyone. We understand that everyone has struggles, both seen and unseen. This blog is simply a way to share specific information with family and friends on a mass level about what is going on in our little corner of the world right now. I believe that having all this information accessible to loved ones eliminates speculation and rumors and questions as to what is really going on. We appreciate all the love and support that we have received. Thank you!

I love you all. I am glad the surgery went well, and Bread is home. I am sure your Mom was very happy to see him.
